Default Router issues

I have a D Link router which i have port forwarded already, windows firewall/nortons firewall, both allowing port 2593. But just found that i also have a firewall in my dsl speedstream router.is the 5200 model. When i goto the set up/port forwading section, it wont let me add the port, says that the NAPT server IP address is not a valid host LAN address. When i try to apply them to the NAP/NAPT section it wont let me, says not valid IP adress any ideas? My current server list is Mr.Fix it's.. any help would be appreciated..

Ok I did some searching on this router...click on this link for "Speedstream Router"
http://www.alltel.net/downloads/link...dStream211.pdf

It tells you how to configure your firewall, because it is enabled to keep others out of that ip....You can configure it and it should work...Scroll down to page 52 I think and it tells you how to open ports to this router...

Good luck,

If that did not work, Try this... Give the ISP a call and ask if you can switch from the "Napt" ... To "NAT"... BUT PLZ! after you do so.. post back and tell us if that works.. I am haveing the same problem as you but i am not going to be back to my computer untill tommorow.

Well, I have seen other posts in here about dsl modems that have their own sort of firewall that needs to be configured correctly for things to work. There are also companies that actively block ports so customers cannot run servers.

Actually, if I were the OP, I would just disable the Firewall in the modem altogether. He's got a second DLink router and there's no real reason to have 2 routers on the same network. The DLink is a bit more mainstream and easier to find information on.

But, all that is fine and good except that this is a 5 month old post already and the OP probably has a handle on things by now.

Doesn't matter... it's a router. Basically it's a broadband router with a Wireless Access Point added on (that's all most wireless routers are). It still requires a broadband input from a DSL or Cable connection.
