This is a question and not an answer. I hope I am in the correct forum area for this and sorry if I am not. I have never even stop to think about how pet skills work other then the fact that they can have diffrent AI which I assume would have something to do with what skills they use or dont use. I have a player on my server asking me all kinds of questions about whether they can or can not have more skills and what there skill cap level is if any. I do use RoninGTs pet system so my pet skills maybe diffrent then what was setup in defualt systems. Like I said I have never thought about it befor so I have no answers to how pet skills work and I would like to understand pet skills better so I can answer question about it. Any idea on where I can start a research on this subject would be great, links or idea you may have or if you yourself already understand the system and dont mind teaching and old fool new tricks then please bring it on. Thank you all for taking the time to read this post and for any ideas you may have.

Well you can get caps of skills and the ranges pets spawn within at uo.com. I think Runuo is close to that?
As for skills a pet can have almost anyskill there is, you just have to tell the AI to use it. (I dont really script and I am guessing here heh) I am also pretty sure that you can adjust the cap of any creature in the script for that creature. As for gaining skill I do believe they gain skill jusut like player mobiles? Using the skill allows for skill gain. Now I don't think its possible to say have a npc with blacksmithy and it actually use it like a player, so this skill would probally never gain. But passive skills and combat skills would gain just like a player.... I think ![]() |

i would head over to uo.stratics.com and check out their taming guides and such, they should be able to tell you a lot ofthe info you want
look in the skill section under taming (left hand menu towards the bottom) - may have to use a few of the cross reference links, but you should be able to find most of what you want - they also have a forum just for tamers too i believe
