Yesterday my UO server was working fine and then this morning my ISP went out. After the ISP got it back up my server couldn't connect. I've opened the port 2593. But still it says on www.canyouseeme.org that the connection to that port was refused. I've opened the port on every single Local IP and still it says the connection was refused. I don't understand, it was working fine just the other day. Any ideas?

Yes, I would do that, after reading the Terms of Service of the ISP completely. And since the ISP or the connection was down, they easily could have been upgrading to disallow running servers either in their own hardware or in modem firmware.

The Terms of Service say You are prohibited from "run programs, equipment, or servers from the Premises that provide network content or any other services to anyone outside of your Premises LAN (Local Area Network), also commonly referred to as public services or servers. Examples of prohibited services and servers include, but are not limited to, e-mail, Web hosting, file sharing, and proxy services and servers;"

Then if it worked yesterday, and nothing on your machine has changed and you doublechecked your router/firewall settings and they are all good, I would guess that they caught you running a server and blocked it. If that's so, I would almost count that as a good thing. My ISP will simply disconnect me and if I'm not mistaken, they can actually charge me money for running servers under a 'theft of services' clause in which I should have had a commercial account if I wanted to run servers.
I obviously can't say for sure that that is what happened, but I do know that has happened to others. |

I just called them and they said they are not blocking the port, and it must be my router. They told me to plug it into the modem to see if it works, and it still says connection refused. So it can't be me, they HAVE to be blocking it.
EDIT: They said they've changed nothing, and I'm all out of ideas, this really sucks. I can't run my server anymore, I don't know what to do. Last edited by Kiwibird; 10-20-2006 at 03:00 PM. |

double check your router settings. When my power goes out, i always have to adjust the settings. Look at what your server says on the start up, the address it gives you 192.168 .... make sure that in your router settings, that's the one you set for port forwarding.
