Default Internet Clients can Connect but LAN Clients Can't?

Hello.

For some reason when i host the game over the Internet, people that join through the Internet can join nice and easy, but when I try to connect through the LAN to join them the server does not even see me trying to connect nor let me connect.

If I use the IP its binded to it does not see me.(WAN IP)
If I use the machine's local IP assigned from the DHCP, it sees me but disconnects me after I pick my shard.

When I have it set up for just the LAN I can connect.

UO version- 5.0.6c
I tryed connecting with this version. No luck

So I upgraded Client to the latest. Got latest razor and ConnectUO.
Still no luck.

UO Server is on seprate machine.
NOS = Windows 2000 Advance Server Edition
Service Pack = 4

Ports are open.(2500-2600 TCP) and pointing to the machine.
Yes I did remove encryption.
I did double check IP.

-Past-
In the past I was able to get it to work, but server was running on the PC I use for the game. Was able to connect no problem, but after I move it to a seprate server, no luck(what I said at the top).

I really hope its not XP thats messing me up. I remember XP blocking others and me to my web server in the past, that was till I edit the 'hosts' file for it didn't.

Does any one know whats going on. Or have any ideas how I can resolve this annoying problem.

Thanks

Default

the problem might be thjat it is now on a 2k machine and not xp

can you connect to the 2k machine from your xp machine via network neighborhood? if not - you do not have the network set up correctly for your machine to connect - and it will not allow you to connect via the lan then - 2k is picky on security - if not configured correctly - no machine on the lan can connect, via any means

by the way - i found no performence difference from running one on 2k vs xp - both ran the same

Default You're very welcome ...

... glad it worked but Kudos goes to Chanido for that one

Unfortunately it did not help my problem (see same thread for anyone who's interested) so I would truly apprieciate any input from the community on this one.

I've confirmed the problem is my end now by trying it from another friend's pc. So please ... anyone ... even wildly insane suggestions are welcome at this stage
