Cannot Login to Server

Alright, my friend and I created a server at his house and 1. is it possible to use UOGateway to connect to his server and 2. Does he need to do something special to bring the UO Shard online? thanks.


According to RunUO , it gave him two different numbers, the first of which he used to login, without being online.

127.0.0.1:2593
192.160.1.47:2593

1-I dont think you can list your server on UOGateway anymore. Its better to use ConnectUO

2-To Let Anyone Or Yourself Get on the shard threw the WAN and not his LAN he needs to do a couple things.

A-Edit His Serverlist.cs File and put his IP Address in there.
You Must use your IP Address that your ISP Gives/Uses To Find It Out Go To IP Chicken

In The Serverlist.cs file find

        private const string Address = "His IP Address From IP Chicken Here";

		public const string ServerName = "New Shard Name Here";

And Edit it to what the IP Address you got from IP chicken is and the second line is the server name which you can change instead of RunUO TC

B-If your friend is using a router he will need to forward his ports that he is using for the server usually 2593

Have him take a look at Router Connections & Configuring For Dummies

C-Now that your ports are forwarded you need to make sure that your Firewall is ok with the port your using

D-Thats pretty much it your set to go and people can play on your shard
Oh If you want it listed on ConnectUO just register there and add a shard

Since i had extra time i posted but please next time try to use the Search Function its very useful as i am sure this has been answered considering i have answered it a couple times hehe

127.0.0.1 aka localhost -> this is the address you use to talk to the computer you are on

192.160.1.47 this is his computers address assigned to his router

to connect to the shard i sugest you follow a guide..

I looked at those, but they were kind of confusing. I know you can't list your server on UOGateway any longer but the "Local Shards" tab, can I use that to connect if i know the IP?

Yeah you can make a new local server threw UO gateway as long as you dont have one of the latest patches as UOGateway doesnt support high patches.

no offene if that guide is confusing you should not be running a shard..
