Default Having Prob's

I have changed everything to what is said but people cant connect to my shard. I have forwarded my ports, I have the right IP, and I use mr.fixit's serer list. What I dont understand is that on connectuo my shard says its active and I can log on but I keep seeing a guy trying to log on but he gets disconnected right away but last night while I was AFK a player logged in and created a char but then logged off. And I dont know if this makes a difference but when I log in the first time there is no red dot next to the sever name (before the char selection screen) but if i log off and log back in the red dot IS next to the shard... BTW I cant test my shard so could someone do me a favor and check it for me? Shard name- The Best Shard Ever. Just see if you can connect. thank you and sorry for any spelling errors.

*edit* Okay. Someone tried it, and said that as soon as they created their char, it minimized and d/c instead of putting them in brit. Someone else has been trying to create an acc all day, and keeps getting d/c even before they get to the char creation screen. And I'm guessing that the guy that tried last night had the same prop with creating a char, then getting d/c as the guy that tried a few minutes ago. So I'm assuming that it's not a connection error, but something to do with getting into the world. The only reason I'm making this so long and drawn out, just to say "People can log, but not get in the world" is because I really want this shard, and am trying to help you help me. Thanks for any help.

Should be ok if people (including you) can logon (nearly), but can you check your server with Open Port Check Tool?

Also, can i recommend you use the SVN version?

Here's a wee intro the the RunUO SVN: RunUO 2.0 SVN open to public, Update on 2.0 Release

You'll need a svn client, i'd recommend TortiseSVN.

Here's another post I'd like you to check out: http://www.runuo.com/forums/server-s...ading-svn.html

Edit: I'm going to bed now, but post in here how it went, if you have any other problems, I'm sure someone will help ya out before I'm back online again (probably 2morro morning)... Good luck!

Do I have to get rid or runuo 2.whatever? And if so, how do I run my server? I go to "runuo" in the folder I created for tortoise, and it's an image.... And the only way I can figure how to run my shard, is to go back to my runuo 2. folder and use that runuo.

To use tortiseSVN:
  • Create a new folder on your PC (call it RunUO-SRC)
  • Right-click on that new folder, select Checkout SVN
  • As the server use (paste it in): 'http://svn.runuo.com/repos/runuo/devel/'
  • Now there should be 3 folders within the RunUO-SRC folder
Thats it now you have the source, but you need to compile it to a .exe:
  • Open a command prompt to that folder (hold shift, right-click and select 'open command prompt here' if your in Vista)
  • run 'C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\csc .exe /optimize /unsafe /nologo /out:Server.exe /recurse:Server\*.cs'
  • This will create a Server.exe in the folder
Now you can use this SVN version to run your server from, but you must not run it from the SVN (it will get messy, lol):
  • Create a new folder somewhere else (called 'RunUO2' for example)
  • Copy the server.exe in here (you compiled earlier)
  • Also copy the 'Data' and the 'Scripts' to here
  • You should also copy the 'zlib32.dll' and/or 'zlib64.dll' in here (from your original RC1) they don't come with the SVN
  • Run the Server.exe
Thats it, you'll need to set up some of them scripts again (try to get it working without Mr. Fixits serverlist)

The reason for using the Subversion(SVN) is that it's constantly updated by the devs, your always up to date, once you get this far; updating is a lot easier... simple as right-clicking on your 'Runuo-SRC' folder, select update, recompile and paste the server.exe into your shards folder.

You can also use the way I update: http://www.runuo.com/forums/server-s...tml#post682523

Here it goes: I don't know if it's because of Vista or what, but does everybody's SVN folder have a green check next to all the files? Well, either way, mine did too, until I changed my server.cs from null to my address, now it has a red exclaimation mark next to it ( Data\objects and scripts\serverlist.cs). Is this a bad thing (I mean, I know it is, but I just don't know how/why)? Oh and I've looked around on connectuo forums, and haven't found anything about this problem, but when I try to open connectuo, it gives me a "cannot open server list, Would you like to open backup list?" (or something along those lines.), and gives me an older server list. And my shard says active on the web site, and I can find it on the web site, but when I enter it in "local shards", and find it, it's not actually active (no "details" or anything). And another thing: Is there supposed to be a 75.126.37.2 trying to get into my shard at all times? It doesn't seam like a player, 'coz it trys to log on like every 5 mins then gets d/c.... And one other thing. In trammel when I tried to [tele around, I ended up teleporting under brit when I clicked a hill... And for the record, so nobdy wastes time asking; my firewall is off, the ports are forwarded, as I said above, my servelist.cs has been changed, and I'm using tortoiseSVN1.4.4.9706

Oh and this prolly has nothing to do with anything, but I deleted my old shard, and just made a new one. (My old one at least got on the serverlist when it said active)

By the way, thanks for all the help so far kenny. Looking forward to your next post (If I get one).

The green check means that none of the files have been changed, so, since you've changed the ServerList.cs, a wee red ! is normal.

Since you've put the server into a new folder (RunUO2) away from the svn source (RunUO-src), it doesn't need the hidden .svn files to run... I would search the RunUO2 folder (NOT THE RunUO-src folder, the .svns are needed there for tortise to work its magic) for '.svn' delete all the results, but just double check it's your shards folder... that will get rid of all the wee green/red checks.

I think that '75.126.37.2' is ConnectUO checking your shard out (not too sure on this though), I done a whois on ConnectUO and got a '75.126.37.21'.

Can I ask what address you put into your ServerList.cs? Just make sure it's the address of your PC on the LOCAL LAN (eg. 192.168.*.*)

I'm not too familier with ConnectUO to be honest, try asking some1 to connect through your IP via razor.

Can someone try to log into my shard, and tell me what happens? Name: The absolute best
It's on the 8th page when sorting by name.
Please try to tell me what happens in detail.
