First time user problems

Hello I am having trouble with RunUO.. obviously huh? When I start RunUO it starts up but does nothing after that. Then when I attempt to connect through UOgateway it justs gives me the standard login error message. I have read pretty much all of the faqs and guides and nothing in them seems to fix the problem. I am currently uninstalling then reinstalling the .net framework to see if that fixes the problem.

Sorry to trouble you, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Install both versions of .net frameworks and encrypt your client

Oh yeah sorry about that. When i start RunUO I'm left with a command prompt box with a blinking underscore. Ala dos. Then I can not log in locally. UO opens up fine, but says that I should try logging in later.

that is what the server looks like when it is finished compiling the scripts and such

as for the client issue - if you are patch above 5.0.6e (5.0.65+) then UOG will no longer work - use connect UO
if you are patched to 6.0+ then need to be using the latest svn to run the shard because of changes in the map files and other stuff
either switch to it (the svn) or redo UO and only patch to 5.0.91

can also try connecting using just razor also - it works for "all the patches"

but still have to follow above for 6.0+ patching

Thankyou both. I just let the autoupdater patch until it was done. I'll see if this works and then post the results.

unless using the newest SVN to not auto update to 6.0+ stop it at 5.0.91
