Angry OMG does everyone go through this when they start out?

Alright, I can now access my server

I can log into it now (some rice program helped me get past the encryption part)

now, when I am logged in, I can take about 2 steps with my character, and everything freezes up on me. The server seems to keep running fine. I have tried both 2.0 and 1.0, it freezes up on both of them.

Does anyone have any ideas what could/would cause this, and how I get rid of it?

Thanks in advance, sorry for being a pain in the butt today with these questions lol

It is more than likely a client incompatibility issue. If you have only the RunUO 2 RC1 and have updated to the latest UO client, you will more than likely run into this problem.

You have basically two choices:

Either uninstall your client, reinstall it, and stop the patching process before it hits 6.0.1.3
(easy solution) or
Download the latest updates for the RunUO server files through the SVN. You will have to compile the server files into the RunUO.exe yourself though. (more difficult solution.
Here's a quick guide to using TortoiseSVN to get the latest updates to the RunUO server files:
HowTo: Use Tortoise SVN
