Friends cant access my uo

Frist thing first i have dialup and my friend cant access my uo when i tell him my ip he says it says Couldn't connect to ulima online. Please try again in a few moments. What troubles me is im on dialup so i dont have to port forward cause i know dat for a fact cause of this other game i play and i host a server and i didn't port forward and it worked. Does anyone have any insight to this?

First off you should not try to host a server from a machine on dial up.

Second port forwarding is only done when your behind a router on a high speed connection.

And last if you are on dial up you need to use something like no-ip to redirect connections to your current IP because your IP address will change every time you connect to the net. For more info on that visit: No-IP - Dynamic DNS, Static DNS for Your Dynamic IP and check out the "No-IP Free".

But like I said if your on dial up your shard will not support more than you and a couple other people on it at most and you will probably still lag a bit. If you want to have a decent number of players on your shard you will need a better connection.

thanks i got it working last night i decided to add a second no-ip domain to my no-ip and set it up and it works. and i only want it to work for like 4 poeple no more for atm so i dont have to carry my computer with me to my friends house and hook it up cause its a pain carring your pc down the street in your arms and hooking it up at the monitor you got there and yeah you get my point but its only for me and him atm to build and get the shard built for when we release it. thanks much.

Hey let me know when you get up and running so i can come in there and try to wipe it clean like you and your friend tried to do to my shard .......!
