why the fuck aren't we allowed to advertise our shard anywhere on the forums??? Its hard to have a decent shard that people could play when you cant let the UO world know its there, this is so dumb and with like 34632135 shards out there, its hard to make one, maybe pointless

If you don't like it, tough. The reason this rule is in effect is to keep the RunUO forum for RunUO and nothing else. Shard advertisements would bring in other, unwanted advertisements as well. You mustn't forget, there are hundreds of shards out there. We don't want all of the useless threads that don't help people that are advertisements taking up space. There is one thread used for shard advertisement, post your shard in that thread. If you post your shard in any other thread, it will be deleted. There are other ways of advertising your shard; UOGateway, Toplists, etc.

lets see here, there is a thread here to advertiaw, its called "post your shard here" its either in starbucks or general i forget which
2nd, there are over 1000 shards that use runuo, if we allowed advertising every trash shard ever created would have a thread to advertise. that takes web space and bandwidth which costs money. i believe if you subscribe to runuo theres a forum section for classified ads, or atleast there use to. 3rd, who the hell are you to come here and bitch about the policy. you have 72 posts and serve no purpose in this community other then leeching from the community and developers. 4th if you are so worried about not having a playerbase or being known then perhaps your shard simply is not that good. it takes about a year to average 15-25 players and thats with a good shard and advertising in the right places (uogateway.com advertiseuo.com shardwire.org and many other places) take note on this, coming here and acting like a child will not get you new players |

a year to get an average 15-25 players? we have that on average and we considder it crappy atm.. but thats because we're due some major changes and bug fixes when RunUO:ML is released.

Kind of off topic, but would it be a horrible idea to restart the "Post your shard" thread? Not that I'm looking for a shard, but I've found a few shard links that are no longer valid (which might mean they're no longer in existence). I don't run a shard currently, but I figured it would be good to weed out the shards that have been taken down to save those that are looking.
