By studying Japanese arts he'd have a better understanding of the various stylizations and the mindset of the opponent that will be used against him, Attempting to achieve a better understanding of one's enemies is a fundamental property of a well organized attack.

Well that is if you don't have the means to just bomb the shit outta them.
