Default House Builder RC 9 !!! UPDATED !!! [ 11.01.2004 ]

Hi!

I'm working a new version of the HouseBuilder.
The base code is from the RC8.

It is a prerelease, so its not complete yet.

Added :

- Use your MouseWheel to change the floor
- 3rd MouseButton to scroll/look around
- New Toolbox
- Change the Z level where u add a tile
- Open and Save Dialogs
- New layout (just take a look =o))
- New Toolbox.xml format (DONT!!!! use the old toolbox.xml)

ToDo :

- Tiles file is not complete yet so u only got 3 walls at this version
- More Export Scripts
- Design Properties (Resize it, rename it......and so on)
- Save Dialogs to the Exports
- Import Multi Text Files

So, take a look!

Download : look next posts

There is no Source code because it is not realy nice at time, i have to optimize and comment the stuff, then i add it.

Please give ur feedback

I just tried it looks good, but it looks like you are off by 8 or 9 pixels at the left side of the building..

I have a treat for you. I went thru the old toolbox.xml from House Builder V8 and made it work with V9.
I also changed the Icon to something a bit better, hope you dont mind. Anyways check it out and let me know what you think..
NM about the pixels being off, I found out how to move the floor up and down.. :-P

And i add a bit more =o) :

- Use old toolbox.xml
- Change every Z Level for the Floors
- Change current Z Level ( where u add the tile )
- Properties for the Design

I'm currently working on something, that u can set the levels of the Building........is there a max from Ultima? Anyone know? or can i build a house with 100.000.000 Floors =o) ?

And the main thing (why i doing this) roofing.......but this will take a while. Today i post the new version with source.....my ftp don't work at time......*hmpf*

Looking good..
I was thinking, could you have it so that if you hold shift and use the arrow keys, it will allow you to change the Z level.
I love the design Props Dialog.. I wonder if this migth be able to update as you change the design. To give you an idea how much the design will cost. If it does already. I might be over looking it..
Keep up the good work.. :P

hehhe kewl.. just another quick question. I see you have the piece preview at the top left, is there anyway to move this over next to the Z level indicator?
Also, might it be possible to have it so you can resize not only up and down, but left and right for the menu???

Hi!

A new version and the last for some time. I'm now working on the roofing system.

The next Version also has an Options Dialog, where u can set the Server prefix. Also i will make HouseBuilder work with other UO Servers ( the build command )

Changes ( not much )

- U can select if the building has an Foundation
- Build 4 Story houses with or without Foundation
- New tollbar and new menu
- X and Y coordinates shown on the Statusbar
- New render function ( rewritten )
- New design dialog ( rewritten )
- An about dialog ( To the other Developers of HouseBuilder : Is the text is ok. If not, just post. Thx )

ToDo

- Work with other UO Severs
- Multi Language
- Import Multis
- Roofing
- Set number of floors
- Change every floor-Z level

Have fun.

Downloads

Compiled Version ~150kb
Source Code ~95kb

Suggestion:
1-Option to select background tile or RGB color. Then it would fill the background with selected map tile or color, easier to visualize. Also, the background would be rendered when a picture is saved.

2-Transparency option on toolbar

6 Floor is about as high as most maps will generally support in game. There are places on some maps you can actually go as high as 11 floors but in most cases it stops around 6. Tram/Fel have a z inc of 125 up from the ground and 125 below the ground.

Malas in the void area is at something like -95 so it ranges from -95 to +125 giving it what 220 of space up and down allowing for as many as 11 floors you could not walk of the roof so if you count that 10 floors and a useable roof.

Tokuno however is not as large it goes +100 from the ground if I remember right and possible -100 under the ground.

Anyhow I kind of went on a bit longer than I intended. What I was going to say is that you should allow this to support many many floors because not everyone uses the tool for the same purpose. I would like to use this for creating buildings to use in flash movies so for myself it would be nice to have the ability to go a bit higher than normal.

P.S. Your download links are broken.
