Does anyone know of any shard choosers for UO?
I use linux and uogateway(lol), connectuo, and razor all use .NET which won't currently work with linux. In the past I have used uorice to remove the encryption and another program that only let you choose the server. Unfortunately I can't remember what it was called. Please, if anyone can think of any shard chooser other the those three, let me know ASAP. tia, Thadeus EDIT: After hours of searching I have found a solution which I hope will help others. NOTE: This works in windows too obviously. 8) 1) To remove encryption use UORice to created a new client.exe that has no encryption 2) To connect to your preferred shard(s) use UOLauncher. I believe UO Ignition will work as well, but chose UOLauncher because of it's simplicity. If anyone needs help with this feel free to send me a PM or email and share your experience here. 8) Last edited by Thadeus; 04-23-2007 at 07:44 AM. Reason: Solution Found |

actualy you could make a little batch file for each shard you go to to "delete" the current login file and then copy its over then start up uo

Yes, you can run UO on linux just fine.
Granted, there is limited .NET support so you won't be able to use razor. The wine and mono teams are working hard to fix the whole .NET thing so I'm hopeful I will have razor in the near future. If anyone wants any help at all getting UO to run on linux, feel free to ask me. Note: UO Launcher seems to have a bug where I have to reselect the UO directory each time I try to play. Usable, but annoying. I'm going to try out UOIgnition and see how that works. If that fails for whatever reason, I might just go ahead and prepare a nice script to distribute for all to use. |
