Default Pandora's box working... Almost.

Ok, I finally got Pandora's Box beta 7 working, well almost working. What I had to do was remove the application data directory where the old profile was held before install, as well as use the latest mapviewer.dll. After that, it starts, let's me create a profile, and even use that profile. Upon quiting the program however, the profile will never succesfully load again, and PB instead fails on the "generating appearances" screen.

Here is my error log, it says something about a "Null path." What could that possibly mean? Any ideas?

Make sure that your registry path is set correctly.

HKEY\LocalMachine\Software\Origin Worlds Online\Ultima Online\1.0, key ExePath

PB reads that key to determine the location of the files it needs to read, unless a custom path is set.

I have it, however not in the place you specify. All Microsoft 64-bit Operating Systems keep their 32-bit registry entries in a little registry thing known as the Wow6432node. Thus the registry location where you'd find my ultima path is actually

HKEY\LocalMachine\Software\Wow6432Node\Origin Worlds Online\Ultima Online\1.0, key ExePath

Would that make a difference?

It works if you move the registry entry to EXACTLY where you specify... x64 auto-generated paths don't work.

Thanks!

Rather than dig in the registry I think setting the custom path would be easier can I simply do that in the pandoras options?

Should work, if you get that far... Which seems to be the real problem of most posters here, ne?

What is the registry structure UO uses under Vista? I'll see if I can patch that in if anyone tells me.
