Cpu Usage

k i've started with a test project that loads some things (.where info, other things as soon as i find them), only the thing is, i set the timeout between checks of the .where of someone to 100 ms, and once i start it the cpu usage rises till over 90%, and i can only get it down to 35% by setting it to 1 second delay, but surely this isn't what its supposed to be, 35% cpu usage on a 2 ghz pc is kinda high for a simple prog...

anybody know why this happens and how to solve it?
