Doesnt get past Verifying Account

I have tried Beta 1 and 2 with this
i have the .NET framework and all and no routers or firewalls
and when me or anyone else tries to connect they stop at Verifying account and it shows that they have connected in the console.
Also when they try to connect again it keeps adding more clients onto the total clients connected for each time they try.

~confused~

Connecting

When you see a connection in the console is there a whole heap of stuff to go along with it?

This is A Typical of you using a client WITH encryption you need to use UORice to create an unencrypted version or Ignition to pull the encryption out at runtime.

I used UOriced clients and i used UO gateway too
and theres no other errors or anything in the console

Did you alter your login.cfg file to point to the RunUO IP Address?

You also dont need UOGateway if you have a UORiced client you can only take the encryption out once.

Are you trying to connect through loopback or an actual IP Address?

in my login i had used

Loginserver=127.0.0.1,2593

and Loginserver=(my IP at taht time),2593

By the way i am on 56k if that changes anything

and dunno what loopback is

I mean i have used those 2 login.cfg's seperate hehe

also if it means anything i have ran Sphere , POL , UOX, and so on and havent had a problem logining in to any of them

Modem doesnt change anything when playing locally even over the net it only affects your available bandwidth.

Loopback is an ip address built into every machine that goes nowhere but back into that same machine it is a reserved address for testing purposes.
It is what you are using when you see 127.0.0.1

Do you have the .Net framework installed?
If you do have you applied Sevice pack 2 for the .Net Framework?

If you post all the info you have it will be easier to diagnose.

I downloaded and installed .NET Service Pack 2 and restarted my computer
and i started up RunUO and tried Again and it does the exact same thing
i still cannot get passed Veryifing Account.

in the console it shows
Client: 127.0.0.1: Connected. [1 online]
nothing else happens and if i exit the client and try to connect again it just adds on to the total clients connected
Client: 127.0.0.1: Connected. [2 online]

I dunno if it is suposed to show that the client disconnects or what but it says nothing when i exit the client.

Hmm

Can you send all of your config info then.

Info that you should provide to help us out in helping you:

  • Operating System + any service packs applied
  • RunUO version
  • UO Client version + how you are dealing with the encryption
  • Login.cfg settings
  • Network cards installed in your machine + are they enabled / disabled / configured correctly with IP addresses etc.
  • How are you launching the client? from the desktop shortcut that the install creates? <----- If this is the case im gunna get really really mad!
  • any other info you can provide to help us see the cause of the problem[/list:u]

ok here goes

Operating system: Windows ME

Only Service pack ive ever applied is the .net service pack 2

RunUO Version is 3

Client version 3.0.8j - Its UORiced

This is what i have in my login.cfg

;Loginservers for Ultima Online
;Do not edit this file or patching will fail! Always save a backup.
LoginServer=127.0.0.1,2593

Ive never done anything with network cards.. (Dunno about that stuff)

Not using the shorcut that uo creates when installed hehe

i dunno if this has anything to do with it but i had set the scripts to open with notepad . so in their properties it has them to open with notepad by default. dunno if that effects how the server reads em and if the scripts are needed for character creation and all that .

maybe that might help a little bit
I am a newbie at this so im pretty much lost ...

Heres everything it shows in the console from me logging in twice

Scripts: Compiling...done (0 errors, 0 warnings)
World: Loading...done
Scripts: 350 items, 41 mobiles
Network: Listening on 127.0.0.1:2593
Network: Listening on 216.240.69.21:2593
Scripts: Generating status page...done
Scripts: Generating status page...done
Client: 127.0.0.1: Connected. [1 Online]
Scripts: Generating status page...done

when you start what ip and/or Ip's dose it show? i had Problem's like that in the past... i but i'm running DLS...... look in this file and see what is say's <<ServerList>> there is a place that i just added a IP in there... then BOOM it worked

there not there yet not there..then add them here --->// e.AddServer( "RunUO Test Center", new IPEndPoint( addressList[addressList.Length - 1], 2593 ) );

// If you're running behind a router, use the following line instead:
take them out them out -->//e.AddServer( "RunUO Test Center", new IPEndPoint( IPAddress.Parse( "__PUT_YOUR_IP_HERE_" ), 2593 ) ); <<your ip like here just like this ("127.0.0.1") like so>>

if you don't you well have Two Server's running hehe hope this help's
