What license is RunUO released under?
RunUO is released under a private software license. This is not an open source project and it is not freely redist.

Does this mean that once RunUO is out of beta we will have to pay to use it?

I think that just mean the team of runUO can modify the program. That mean the code of the application is not shared to anybody... We can still sugeest and script things, but the application by itself is only modifiable by the staff team.

atleast they dont claim ownership to our scripts like menasoft. anything you wrote they had an instant copywrite on..

actually, if you read the license carefully we technically do, although it would never be enforced, its mainly for submissions to the forums so that we can use them and people cant complain

3. Licensee hereby grants to RunUO a royalty free, worldwide right
and license to use, copy, distribute and make Derivative Works of
Derivative Works created by Licensee and sublicensing rights of
any of the foregoing.

does that protect RunUO from people taking it, renaming everything, and taking it for themselves?

like stealing it kinda?
