House Region Explanation

I have just been experimenting with the Multi House regions, and thought I'd give a simple explanation of what I've found:

Code:
7x7 House layout
----------------

Key:

C    = Center.
D    = Door.
S    = Step.
Si/B = Sign/Ban Location.
W    = Wall.

                  X

	-3 -2 -1  0  1  2  3
     -3  W  W  W  W  W  W  W  1

     -2  W                 W  2

     -1  W                 W  3

   Y  0  W        C        W  4

      1  W                 W  5

      2  W                 W  6

      3  W  W  W  D  W  W  W  7

      4        S  S  S  Si

         1  2  3  4  5  6  7

The center of a house area normally has a "No Draw" tile at 0 z's, as an identifier.

First rectangle is the house area ( -3,-3, 7, 7 ):
-3 from X-axis centre and 7 tiles wide, -3 from Y-axis centre and 7 tiles high.

Second rectangle is the door area ( -1, 4, 3, 1 ):
-1 from X-axis centre and 3 tiles wide, 4 from Y-axis centre and 1 tile high.

Door is set to ( 0, 3, 7 ):
0 from X-axis centre and 3 from Y-axis centre at 7 z's high from ground (0).

House sign is set to ( 2, 4, 5 ):
2 from X-axis centre and 4 from Y-axis centre at 5 z's high from ground (0).

Ban location is set to the same area as the sign, but at 0 z's ( 2, 4, 0 ).

I hope this helps someone?

I'm not sure, but you may be able to define a third rectangle, or, region, to include an area outside of the physical area of a house.
This would allow for external decorations for your house, such as a garden.
This would also involve changing the "ban location" to an area outside of the "garden" area.

Hmmm? :rolleyes:
