x11 client

I was wondering why Ultima Online custom clients do not use the x11 development framework. It seems like a really awesome framework to totally redo the UO client in. You could replace all the graphics as well. Also x11 is so ancient, stable and 2d so it probably run on any operating system.

X11 is not really a graphical framework in the same way that SDL or XNA or OpenTK is, its more the framework for building a desktop enviroment on top of.

Also, writing programs that only use the xlib librarys is truly mind bending and horrible, SDL and such take you a few levels higher than that.

Also, a game client needs hardware acceleration, and most implementations of X don't have any hardware acceleration.

What would be the point in advertising? X is a free/open source specification and X11 is so outdated now, its been replaced by DRI & Xfree86 and xlib has been (mostly) replaced by XCB.

Exactly, its not an ad for X11, its way to make a post, let it fall off the new topic list, come back and edit it, the links/keywords etc will be picked up by google and what have you, its happened exactly like this on connectuo.com and here on these forums for a few months now, the ad bots are getting sneaky.
