Woot!

All we need now is the install Txt again. Seems that is only thing missing from the package. Thanks for working hard to get this out!

Is anyone else having problems importing neruns new map files? It shows "Imported 0 spawners from data/monsters\ilshenar\vendors.map" for each different map. The other line it shows for each is "Imported a total of 13 .map files and 0 spawners from directory data/monsters\Ilshenar"
It shows these msg's for each map.
Any idea?

I'll take a look to see if there was a .map format change to go along with his new upgraded system.

I would just download them again. Somehow you ended up with the RunUO 1.0 versions.

Yes Neruns has changed!

He changed his spawners so there isnt as many in shard. He has sub levels and each sublevel can spawn full spawn if necessary. I think that might be why xmlspawner2 wont import the map files. I am sure Arte is on top of this! His new spawners are kinda cool though with the sub spawn. Will be waiting for your update Arte.

yeah, the .map files have a different format. I am adding support for it now. The old format will remain readable as well.

How do i make spawned mobs to speak?
Just shout stupid things.
Is that possible with xmlspawner?
I need the answer quickly :)
And how about doors what you can only open with the exact key?

*puts on moron hat*

I looked at the tut link but for some reason I can't open those zips. Does this spawn like vendors and such or is this more for custom spawns?

If you want them to say things when you spawn them, you can do things like

orc/SAY/Now you're in trouble!

Here is a link that describes this in more detail
http://xmlspawner.15.forumer.com/index.php?showtopic=114

If you wanted to have them engage in conversation or continue to say things, you could spawn them with an XmlDialog attachment like

orc/ATTACH/xmldialog,npcfilename

where the npcfilename is the name of a .npc file that you had constructed using [xmledit that contained the dialog that you wanted.
Here is a link with details on creating talking npcs
http://xmlspawner.15.forumer.com/index.php?showtopic=81

To spawn doors that you can only open with specific keys, you would set the keyvalue, like

metaldoor,1/keyvalue/1234

and then you could spawn the matching key with

key/keyvalue/1234

If you wanted to set the keyvalue on a nearby door you could use a spawn entry like

SETONNEARBY,1,,metaldoor/keyvalue/1234

and set the spawner within 1 tile of the door. (That specifies an unnamed object of type 'metaldoor', up to 1 tile away)

If you wanted to spawn a creature that carried the matching key, you could add it to its pack with

orc/ADD/<key/keyvalue/1234>

or put it into a spawned container with

metalbox/ADD/<key/keyvalue/1234>

or add it to an existing nearby container with

SETONNEARBY,1,,metalbox/ADD/<key/keyvalue/1234>

So, as you can see there are lots of possibilities.

(edit)

If you take a look in the xmlextras.zip package, you will find examples of these sorts of things.

thanks arte, seems like there is a problem on those tut files, 7zip didn't like them either. Some of the images were broken and I got errors with winzip and 7zip but I'll figure it out. I'll just take time to play with it :)
