We already settled this debate in IRC. Kiwi is the common name for kiwifruit in North America, Europe and South/Central America. And Kwi is accepted by agriculturalists in the U.S. as its correct name. Also It is named after the Kiwi bird, which is the national bird of New zealand, and Kiwi (in Asia its called by its full name, kiwifruit) is also the national fruit. God bless Wikipedia.
