yeah, that dawned on me a month or so ago as well (the spoken vowel)

i.e. "A university"

we never learned about the spoken soft vowel rule in school. Here I am after 30 years and my brain screeched to a halt and asked "wtf did I miss???" because my schooling said it was wrong, and my brain said it was right.

but to the user you were correcting, we understood exactly what you were saying. please take the advice as constructive criticism. ;)

'orse means horse, the h just isn't pronounced. comes from anglo saxen times when they didn't pronounce h ni any of there words.

so i'm just leaving my 'ouse to get some 'erbs.
