The other day I was at work and when I got ready to leave I drove up to a pump at the gas station and put in $10 pulled up to the front of the store walked in and paid and went out to go home BUT!!! My starter went out on the truck and I had to spend the night there luckly for me I worked there but still in 4 days I managed to spend 1 at home and there rest at a damn gas station. When I did get home I walk in the door and the first thing my girlfriend tells me is (trumpets blaring) my desktop is fried. $40 and a brand new 80 gig HDD and I realize I can't find my damn Windows XP install disk DOH!! Not only did I lose the script I was working on plus about a half dozen I was tweaking I lost the entire copy of my server and a ton of scripts I d/l and will have to replace.

You know what they say when it rains it pours (btw the way that's the slogan for Morton's Salt) and I was wondering if any of you have ever had days/weeks/months/years like that?

sorta like when i broke my laptop, sprained my ankle and got the flue in the same week ;/

always keep a external server backup (700mb cdr usualy holds all your custom scripts and and a recent backup file

I usually keep a back up on my Laptop only things I really lost were some of the scripts I was working on but that was a real streak of bad luck

Nothing too bad.

The week my girlfriend was killed by a drunk, my sis got me evicted because she got nailed for her drugs, I lost a great a job cuz of having to move far away because of the eviction, and ended up in hospital because a so-called friend tried to "sedate me without telling me" due to all the grief and ended up overdosing me.

Now I look back, wave two middle fingers to the sky and say you couldn't kick my ass then, you won't be able to now.

Suggestion: Get a flash drive. Work off of said flash drive. Transfer files to server for testing, but keep the working copy on the flash drive.

Oh.. I can relate to having one of those days. A few years back my gf at that time cheated on me, I lost my job and wrecked my car... all within 3-4 days. The next weekend, the only thing that kept me from loosing my sanity, my computer, got destroyed by a lightning... lol.. I mean.. this is the sort of things you only read about.

Point here being... somehow you always manage. :)

It would be a better place, but thats a "wish in one hand, shit in the other and see what piles up first" idealism... so until then, just raise your fingers and call it good :D

One of my uncles was charged with murder while I was waiting to go in for my back surgery. The day that I got out of the hospital from my back surgery my other uncle died and the funeral was held in Calgary, due to the pain from the surgery there was no possible that I would have been able to sit in a car for even just the four hour ride to Calgary. So when my Mom came back from the funeral with a program from it for me, the cat hopped up on the table and spilled my coffee all over the program.

BTW, the Uncle that was charged with murder was acquitted. All of the evidence pointed out to the fact that it was accidental.

This happened today,
I just got the Guildwars game. Top of the line comp/monotor, SHIT video card, didn't know it.
Fucked up my settings, can't see anything
formated my comp(Lost my porn stash*Just kidding*) and it STILL didn't work
So now I have to go out, buy another Harddrive, and video card, cuz the one I used is now fried.
Oh yeah, just before this, someone fried my comp by making a 43 gig file, then using all of my ram. This is the second revert, I had just finished getting my comp back up-to-date when this was finished. Did I also mention that I was beginning base lessions, and my teacher got hit by a car before my first lession?

Fun days.

That's a fairly rude assumption to be making after he has stated that the rest of the computer is top notch. I would be embarassed to make such a statement.
