Ya know guys....
The problem with the world is NOT that there are too many people on it. The problem is that we refuse to work together. I believe that the only thing that would happen if half the people disappeared, would be to have all the same problems... just half the number of people causing them. It would do nothing, except seriously impact the lives of all the people left. We could not sustain industrialized society with only half the current population, which would cause a whole host of new problems (unless of course you only kill unskilled people, many of which would end up being children). This is not a viable solution. IMHO.

As for fresh water, we have the technology to purify water, and it rains. We do have the resources to sustain our current population. And we have more than enough land to sustain our current population. Keep in mind I'm speaking globally. We have to make changes for the future, but killing off half the population is a tad extreme.
What do you think wanting power to control others is? That is fear. Fear of losing your status, wealth, food supply, mate, whatever. Wanting it all (greed), is simply a manifestation of being afraid of having nothing. Bullies, bully out of fear. Get them before they get you. That is fear.

Dunno with word World I could not think about society. But as most of you with word means people. Then, I would , if i could, made the life four times shorter. If you live only till 25. That would be nice
