The Matrix Reloaded-Why can Neo stop the sentinel?

The Architect scene is still very confusing.. why do they want to rebuild Zion? So the humans can revolot against the Matrix again after it has been rebuilt?

Yes in lets zion rebuild they can destroy it again and again, and still lets the human have choice.
the machine need the human for the energy....
in the present concept of the matrix. the one emerge systemiticly. all the time the machine have all the power on the human.
When the one was found the core of the matrix is in danger. now the machine destroy zion and all the human and restart the matrix program.
It's like formating your computer. When too much program is being install on your computeur he run slowly and you want hit him to unstress . You format him and lets reinstall windows until the next "big crash". the machine make this with the matrix.

Um... I still don't understand why they need Zion to exsist...
Don't you protect your computer from a virus after it hits the first time...?
Why wouldn't the machines protect the matrix from humans, they know they are going to rebel...

Zion isn't a rebellion. It is just a computer simulation to offer people false hope.

I hate the matrix within the matrix thing... I think it would totally ruin the trilogy... :?

Who says anything about a trilogy? Don't you see the purpose is to say that we are in a matrix that is showing a matrix within a matrix.

IIRC, he stated that Neo was the by-product, and quite necessary to the success of the Matrix.
