See here's my problem with the current US Goverment.
1) The Patriot Act, as Anti-Basic stated it's a misnomer as it limits the freedoms that the Patriots that founded this country laid down for us. Thanks to it we are no longer protected agianst Undue Process of Law since now our homes and lives can be probed and monitored in order to find probable cause to arrest individuals, instead of needing probable cause to inact searchs of our private lives and homes. All in the name of keeping the US safe from Terrorists, which it dosen't in any way shape or form. As I said before how can the Goverment expect us to beleive they are keeping us safe from well organized technologically equiped terrorist groups when they can't stop thousands of people from simply walking into the US from Mexico. If Juan Valdez can walk into the US without being caught what's to stop Ali Baba from doing the same?, except he might be carrying a necular device with him....
2) National Economy, The Nations Economy is crap inflation is running rapid due to rising oil costs and the goverment is now spending money they don't even have..this money will eventually have to come from somewhere and the only place is from the working class Americans. Here's the simple truth to this, there is a finite amount of cash in circulation if we are spending more than exists or are in debt for more than is aviable there is no way to maintain a stable economy since supply has been outweighted by demand ie. The need for cash has out grown the supply of it and the Politicians just don't get it. If you or I go out and buy a new TV for $300 and only have $100 in the bank to cover the check what happens? You bounce it and the retailer will take your ass to court for the other $200. What happens with the goverment is they take the other $200 out of Social Security and Medicare which are needed to help take care of the people who worked for decades to fund the goverments need for cash by paying taxes and now people in my generation are looking at having to work till the day we die because the goverment dosen't give a fuck about it's future just its present.
What can we do about this....well at the current rate the US is rapidly heading towards a second Civil War, my reasoning for this is we are already divided into two primary groups Red States and Blue States. The US needs to abolish all political parties, lobby groups, and internal sects in order to get back to the heart of the issues, Pride in preforming your Civic duty is what is needed not a carrer in politics. Senators and Repesentatives should not be getting paid as they do and they should not be allowed to vote thier own pay raises.. The bill passed saying that a voted in raise only becomes active after the next session of Congress did nothing as most of those seats are filled by the same faces and people year after year.
The General Public needs to raise thier voices and tell those we elected to Serve us what we feel they need to do. Voting ever couple of years is not enough and anyone who thinks so is flat out wrong it's their duty to serve and act in our best interests but when they are considering a plan or course of action that isn't we need to band together and oppose it. If we speak loud enough they have no choice but to listen and if they don't then the current trend of introducing facist and communist ideals into American society will continue at an alarming pace....give them an inch and they will take a mile....
